What is the Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam?

Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam/Shaadi Mubarak is a gift to unmarried girls from SC, ST, BC, EBC, and minor categories from Telangana state. The Government of Telangana offers financial assistance to the family whose yearly income is below 2L. This scheme offers one-time financial assistance to the newlyweds who are above 18 and belong to the lower castes in the state. The promised amount shall transferred to the bride’s mother’s account for smooth wedding preparations. This scheme will not only prevent early marriages but also support women’s empowerment.

Benefits

  1. As per the eligibility, ₹1,00,116/- one-time financial assistance shall be granted to every SC/ST/BC/EBE girl at the time of their marriage.
  2. Irrespective of the caste, ₹1,25,145/- financial assistance will be given to the disabled girl’s family. 

Note: Only one-time financial assistance can be availed under the Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme.

Eligibility

  • The unmarried girl from the SC/ST/BC/EBC category should be a Telangana resident, and their age should be above 18 at the time of their marriage. 
  • This scheme took effect after October 2, 2014, so the individuals can apply afterwards only. 

NOTE: This scheme also covers Muslim girls from poor families called “Shaadi Mubarak.”

How to apply?

  • Visit the official website of Telangana ePass to apply online.
  • Look for Kalyana Lakshmi Shaadi Mubarak” to apply (the icon is shown below).
  • Once you click on the icon, a new page will appear.
  • Click here for registration after filling out the registration form with the required details as asked on the form.
  • Upload the scanned documents (The format and size should be in JPEG/JPG, greater than 50kb/less than 150 kb)
  • Before submitting it, give it a quick check to avoid any errors. 

Also, the applicant can take out the printout for future reference under the Print/Status button and can also edit the form and upload the application form with the help of the ‘Edit/Uploads” button.
