The Udyogini Scheme is a government initiative designed to provide financial assistance to women entrepreneurs, encouraging them to start and grow their own businesses, boosting women's empowerment.
The scheme aims to foster entrepreneurship among women, especially those from economically weaker sections, by offering loans and financial support to help them establish small and medium enterprises.
Under the Udyogini Scheme, women can avail loans up to ₹3 lakh with interest subsidies for setting up businesses in sectors like agriculture, retail, handicrafts, and services, with minimal collateral.
Women aged between 18 and 55, from below-poverty-line families or economically weaker sections, are eligible. Special preference is given to widows, disabled women, and SC/ST applicants.
Eligible women can apply through banks or state financial corporations by submitting proof of identity, income, and business plans. Upon approval, they receive the loan to start their ventures.
