How to Apply for Fasal Rahat Yojana – Eligibility, Benefits & Process!

Jharkhand Fasal Rahat Yojana is a new scheme launched by the Government of Jharkhand under the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Cooperative.

The scheme’s objective is to provide financial help to the farmers affected by crop damage from natural and unavoidable natural calamities. The scheme does not only provide financial assistance but also helps strengthen farmer’s income streams with the help of different agricultural activities and livelihoods. It ensures that farmers have a good financial flow to take on their farming operations. Thus, the Government of Jharkhand is promoting food security, the need for diversification of crops, and competition to boost the agricultural sector. 

Crop Calamities: What’s Covered and What’s Not?

When the hard work of farmers is not met with good monetary income or in cases when they face losses due to natural calamities, the Rajya Fasal Yojna primarily deals with helping the compensation. It’s a sense of security for the crops they are growing and makes them confident about farming and related activities. Checkout below what are covered & non covered calamities:

Covered vs. Non-Covered Natural Calamities

Note: The scheme does not differentiate between landowners or landless, all have an equal share of security under the scheme to boost the agricultural economy.

Benefit

The farmer will get the support in case their crops are falling under with natural calamities. The structure is as follows:

• When crop loss of 30-50%: Financial assistance of ₹3,000 per acre, (it’s applicable for a max of 5 acres.)
• When crop loss is greater than 50%: Govt. will increase support of ₹4,000 per acre (also up to a max of 5 acres.)

Important points

• The Jharkhand Rajya Fasal Yojna considers both the Kharif season and Rabi crops.
• Farmers would not have to deal with any intermediate companies or insurance companies. The plan requires no premium payments from farmers.
• The loss would be estimated on the data gathered through different crop cutting experiments.

Eligibility

• Must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand.
• The farmer’s minimum age should be 18 years.
• Must be classified as a small or marginal farmer or a ‘Raiyat’ or ‘Bataidaar’ farmer.
• Must have a valid Aadhaar Card.
• Eligible if cultivating on government or non-major land with proper lease or settlement documents from the Revenue Department.
• Must have requisite land documents (LPC/Land Receipts).
• Assistance is available for agricultural land ranging from 10 decimals to 5 acres.
• Benefits are provided only for crop loss of at least 20%.
• All farmers can participate in the scehem at their discretion.

Special Note: The scheme aims for maximum coverage of SC/ST, women, Paharia Tribe, and Primitive Tribe farmers.

How to Apply for Fasal Rahat Yojana?

Registration Process

1. Log in to the Jharkhand Rajya Fasal Rahat Yojana website.
2. Find and click on ‘Farmer Registration’.
3. Enter your details like Name, Aadhaar Number, Mobile Number, Captcha
4. Click ‘Get OTP’ to proceed.
5. Enter the OTP you got on your mobile to complete the registration.

Login Process

1. Login to the website of Jharkhand Rajya Fasal Rahat Yojana.
2. On the homepage, click on ‘Registration’ and select ‘Application’.
3. Choose to log in using your Aadhaar Number or Mobile Number.
4. Select the Crop Season, and enter your login details, including your password and captcha.
5. Click on ‘Login’.
6. Your basic details such as Name, Date of Birth, and Address will appear on the screen.
7. Review all displayed information, enter the captcha, and proceed by clicking ‘Next’.
8. Upload the required Declaration and other essential documents.
9. Re-check all information and uploaded documents for accuracy.
10. Apply and get a confirmation slip for your records.
