What is Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana (NSMNY)?

The Maharashtra government announced the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana on June 15, 2023, to provide financial help to farmers across the state. This initiative aims to boost the agricultural community’s income by providing direct cash transfers to farmers, allowing them to sustain their livelihoods and meet basic necessities.

This approach provides a constant income stream and avoids reliance on high-interest borrowing. The government thinks that this initiative would help farmers cover their daily expenses, invest in farming activities, and safeguard themselves from financial challenges.
