The Rajasthan government introduced a welfare program named Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana in June 2016. This scheme offers financial assistance to the girls so they become self-reliant. This scheme doesn’t only support the education and well-being of a girl but also encourages lessening the gender-based discrimination of those who don’t support the girl’s birth.
What is Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana?
The Rajasthan Government took the initiative to improve the well-being of girls, reduce gender inequities, and encourage girls’ education through Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana by offering financial assistance of ₹50,000. This scheme started on June 1, 2016, and girls born after that date will get the benefits.
Benefits
To encourage girl child well-being and promote their education, the Rajasthan government offers up to ₹50,000 financial assistance in 6 instalments from birth to 12th grade as follows:

Eligibility
- The girl child must be a Rajasthan resident.
- She must be born on or after June 1, 2016, in a government or private medical institution registered with Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY).
- Each family may only have two eligible girl children.
- Both an Aadhar card and a Bhamashah card are required for the girl’s parents.

How to apply for the Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana?
- Anganwadi workers, Saathins, and Asha Sahyoginis should collect Bhamashah cards and linked bank account details from pregnant women during their ANC (Antenatal Care) or MCHN (Mother and Child Health Nutrition) check-ups at the nearest government hospital.
- The concerned ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) should enter the beneficiary’s details in the RCH (Reproductive and Child Health) register. Ensure 100% online entry of more information in the PCTS (Pregnancy, Child Tracking & Health Services) software before delivery.
- During house visits, Anganwadi personnel and Asha Sahyoginis must get the Bhamashah card details from the ladies.
- On MCHN (vaccination) days at health centres and Anganwadi centres, pregnant women who don’t have a Bhamashah card should be motivated to get one. ANMs, Anganwadi workers, Saathins, and Asha Sahyoginis should encourage women without a Bhamashah card to get one from the nearest e-Mitra centre. These women should be asked to provide their card details to the nearest Anganwadi centre or government hospital.
- Field workers and honorary workers from the Women and Child Development Department, along with the Medical, Health, and Family Welfare Department, should actively publicize the importance of obtaining a Bhamashah card.
